    I have noticed this site drops the sessions quite often. This is quite annoying when you are trying to read new posts, as they turn to “read” before you can even find them.

    I have built and maintain several bespoke phpbb forums and could probably write you a mod for your sessions.php file to stop this happening.

    If you would like this, just email me sessions.php and I will take a look.

    Thanks for the kind offer Gordon but we are looking a few options for the forums. We may well move away from phpBB in the future or customise it a bit further.

    I would assume this is related to the fact that sometimes when looking under “posts since last visit”, it flashes up there aren’t any. Yet in the backgound I can see there are still orange highlighted posts as unread. Even tried “in new window”.

    Does my head in as this always seems to happen when I haven’t had time to look on the site for a day or so, and consequently I miss some items.
