    Help,

    Been to this one this morning at a local vets that gives me a lot of work – won’t spin was the fault according to customer.

    It’s an induction motor that goes with a helping hand but I couldn’t find the start cap. The only Cap I saw was at the top and it looked like the mains filter unless I’m mistaken. Is this a split phase induction motor ? If not where’s the starter cap ??

    Under the cross bar in the top. Special fitting though – p/no 1240344-10/9. Or use a standard 16uf and drill a hole. I didn’t tell you that bit. 😀

    Chris,

    I looked at that and thought, must be mains filter as there was only one, normally 2 side by side like on service machines. Where can I get one pretty quick and price if poss. Should have checked more thoroughly – annoyed with myself !!

    The special fitting genuine one now is also supplied with a standard thread so you have to drill it anyway, go with Chris’ advice and put a normal 16uf in there 😉

    no need to drill just use a large washer and mount it where the original was

    Cheers guys. Standard 16uf ordered and on the way – and I do know how to spell Zanussi, it was just a typo.

    Puurrrrrfect my Veterinary customer said. Fitted like a glove, big washer and a nut, as good as new – nice easy job, like these ones.
