I have read Martin’s note on Error codes and did a Search as instructed to no avail….
I/We own a Hotpoint Dishwasher model DF42 which is not working and showing on the display what I presume to be an error code it reads:-
F 1A and a steady audible Beep Beep Beep is been emitted from the machine. I need to know what this code is. I have inspected the water pump it seems to work fine the impeller is turning there is no kinks or blockages as far as I aware in the water system.
I am now stuck and awaiting your help…
Till then I am chained to the kitchen sink

FIA isn’t an error code that’s for sure 😕

Could this be a conspiracy against df42 owners by Hotpoint.. a breakdown on a certain day bug? My machine failed with the same unknown fault code (F1A) on the 1st august 2006. 😕
Was going to change the water pump.. but now not so sure…

These dishwashers are a facelifted version of the 7882/7883/7885 series produced over 12 years ago, it is possible that FIA may just be a corrupted display that could actually be E1 plus another random figure. The only fault codes listed in the manual are E10.E11.E21 & E22.
There are 5 service programmes used for running diagnostics checks but that is best left to a qualified engineer, failure to observe the correct procedure can result in overfilling etc.
NB. E10 is a fill time out ( it has not filled or emptied ) within five minutes
E11 is a heater time out fault ( it has not reached the required temp in 45 mins)
