Just taken this enquiry on the phone , customer describes it as letters (or part of letters)missing from words on digital display as he attempts to select programme.
Display also fades away and even displays foreign language :?.

When he does get it set to a programme it wont start and he thinks display is telling him to check water supply but again missing parts of letters.

Suspect control board 480831 but don`t want to make any expensive mistakes.

    Any help appreciated.

Almost certainly replacing the module will cure the problem, however it could just be the display module plug-in onto the module that is at fault? It’s a fiddly little ribbon cable connector that could just have a bad contact?

Now as the occasional foreign language comes up (e.g. Bereit) on the display, that convinces me that the display module is fine and the fault is indeed the 480831 Module… 😉

Fairly easy job to replace and reconfigure the new module even if the configuration instructions appear a little daunting at first glance 🙂

    Hi

    Display Board (424675) – £59 +VAT
    Control Module (491122) – £149.35 +VAT

Please note both now are superceded part numbers.
Personally I would say thet the display board is at fault or poor connection between itself and the control board. However the random language being displayed could still point back to control board.
Quote for both boards and let them decide 😀
