    Can anyone please help?
I was about to purchase a Neff ceramic induction hob for my new kitchen, but have been advised by nearly all of my friends/colleagues to stick with gas.
Is an induction hob quick to heat up / easy to use etc?
Has anyone used both and could recommend either gas/induction? ❓

    Hi there.

Induction hobs are the most efficient hob on the market.

They are easy to keep clean because the ceramic glass does not heat up as much as on a normal ceramic, so it won’t have burnt on stains.

The only problem is that you need to use special pans to use this technology.

If you can run to a new set of pans then I would go for it.

…..on the other hand, gas hobs are more efficient, cheaper and more adaptable to all types of cooking utensils……professional chefs only use gas for that very reason 😉

Induction Hobs are neat looking and a very high tech boys toy, but very useless in a power cut, and we will have lots of them in the future as our National Grid goes into melt-down 🙁

Pros are starting to use induction as well now Martin, some chefs rate induction over gas now. Just FYI.
