The oven came with the flat I bought and according to the manual, the oven will only start if it the time is set on the digital display and the mode is manual.

It does have power running to it, and the display alternatively flashes “0:00” and “auto”. I have followed the instructions to set the time but the buttons do not seem to make the numbers change. Are the buttons broken or am I doing something wrong? As instructed I hold the time button and press the + or – but nothing happens. Have tried pressing other buttons too, but nothing changes.

Also, does the “auto” that flashes mean it’s not in manual mode? I am afraid I don’t know how to change the mode.

Am grateful for any advice that you can offer – thanks!!

If the auto is flashing than it will almost certainly be in auto mode and the oven therefore will not work. Cannot give you advice on setting but it usually involves pressing 2 buttons as well as the + –

Press buttons 2 and 3 Simultaneously while pressing + or – to set correct time. Download a manual for this model from http://www.serviceforce.co.uk/pdfs/U04053.pdf hope that helps.

Pressing Button 4 once should take it out of auto mode, if there is no response I suspect the Timer control unit is defective. 🙁
