ParticipantHi all
Anyone know of a decent 40 torx 3/8″ drive. I have used Halfords, mainly on Indesit pulley “bolts” and they seem to twist and burr the bolt. I want a good one so help needed.
Also the clips on Whirlpool hoses. Is there a tool for these?
Thanks

Snap-on tools. Not cheap but guaranteed for life.

i find that on the indesit i used to break cheap and expensive torx bits alike while using a ratchett have now started using air gun on it and am using a torx piece from one of those electric screwdriver 100 pieces whatnot for 20 quid cheap as you like done loads not bent any 🙂

Give your Indesit Torx bolt a blast with your blowtorch first before attempting to undo it 😉

Thanks for the replies.
Have decided to get an impact driver and a blow torch and keep fingers crossed.
Why can’t they just fit a proper nut?

For the Whirlpool clips, I use a pair of miniature end cutters to tighten them back up. Loosen them with a terminal driver waggled in the crimped part.

Draper Tools,
Part no 66883 – Torx 40 Impact bit about 1.29 each either direct from Draper or order from any Draper stockist. Even if you don’t use it with the impact driver put the 1/2 SD impact head on your ratchett. I found best way is to either heat nut first or give the nut a bit of a welly and then tap the bit into the nut first. I’ve tried everything before and these are probably the best cost option. At one stage I was doing 2-3 Inde spider changes a day. Even with this bit they do occasionaly break but not that often.

The ones Indesit use are made by Belzer, you can buy these from indesit but will pay a premium price. I have the part numbers somewhere but cannot locate at present. perhaps one of the Indesit guys will look it up on the tools list on emit.
usefull also the T30 and the adaptor for the ratchet, warning these will cost dearly though through Indesit Parts. -
