Went to look at my first one today. Unit was runnning then switches off and has to be restarted at wall socket. Has been running fine for 8 months whilst customer doing this. Previously freezer got down to minus 26. Now it goes to 14. Frozen food at bottom but not at top (Fan?)
Is therre a test mode i can check for faults first? No meter testing done yet just looking at symptoms. And where do i get parts from?

    Regards

probably a time out fault, indicating that the defrost wasn’t completed within a particular time (80 mins i think)
check all the defrost components, starting with the fridge cabinet.
    parts available from isdal.

It sounds like the thermal fuse faulty, when you switch it on and off it resets till next defrost. you can get parts from ISDAL or Connect, there is a test sequence but I don’t have it at home.

check the evaporator heater isn’t o/c, the test sequence wouldn’t indicate this nor would it if the thermal fuse was o/c

briefly the test sequence is to hold the left and right top buttons in for about 8 seconds, or alternatively turn the unit off at the wall, this automatically puts it into test mode.
if the appliance detects a fault, then segments of the numerals are lit up, according to the particular fault.

a word of caution when checking the evap heater, make sure you disconnect it from the tray heater via the plug, otherwise you’ll get a false reading.

    cheers.
