KeymasterA few thoughts on my proposal that we should consider where we go from Nursery St, hence No 42 as a title.
I think that as we expand the UKW ideas;
Network/3rd party work
UKW insurance schemes
Sales of appliances/spares
Call centre and admin departmentswe will need to move into larger premises. just to add a little more to the ingredients…
Refurbishment/training workshops
ISE appliance storage and distributionI’m sure you guys can add to the list.
The point is that within 12 months we will have to relocate, it will cost us a years rent to get out of Nursery St but we will have to absorb that. My thoughts are that we need to get our selves onto the 1st rung of the property ladder by buying the next location. As prices in the Kilmarnock area will rise over the next few years, helped by Glasgow being awarded the 2014 commenwealth games, we had better start looking now.
I reckon it’s better to have a mortage than paying over the odds, we are also in a sound financial position with the bank at the mo to make the mortgage application easy.As far as ISE storage and distribution goes, I think we must consider taking this on rather than let it go to someone else in Scotland. The present set up for CDA is that they retain £37.00 per box to pay for storage/distrib.
Therefore ISE will have to PAY someone to do it, will need someone to do it in Scotland (as well as everywhere else) in order to break away from CDA.
Therefore UKW can gain income for storing and distribution from ISE, a neat and simple way of part funding our new building (No42).
Remember at present CDA only deliver once a week and then not to the west coast, I’m sure we could cover scotland with a Sprinter and driver.The training workshops is to develop the idea of a Scottish training centre for future training toward NVQ levels, plus offering manufacturers venues for their own scottish training sessions. I’m sure you guys can see where this might go. but essentially another money spinner to chip in to the No42 running costs.
I think it’s pretty important that we all air and share our views on this. John will have to be advised as he is the ISE link. If we can do it via the forum, great, if not we may have to meet up.
I do however think we may have to meet to resolve a few issues the ISE but I’ll post in the other boardroom later today.
