Chafed wiring harness, analogue motor in digital machine, someone had a fiddle before you got to it, pure speculation really ❓ 😕

It has a fhp motor,
analogue or digital, now i am confusedAugust 18, 2006 at 8:37 am #185402DDSDDS

your topic is motor too fast but post says too slow which is it
if it is too slow is it slow as in about 500 revs
or slow as in always tumbling
it might be convinced it is full of water ie p switch or blocked pipe
if it is too fast does it go straight to a full spin without slowly building up if so taco fault maybe wire to it
also these machines commonly have burnt wire in the end of the mtor wiring harness just open up and see
let me know how u get onAugust 18, 2006 at 6:36 pm #185403pmb

It is going at spin speed when it should be distributing and then it reverses after a second or 2 without slowing :hmm:

i would definatly say taco fault
if u have changed the motor and timer
definatly check the wiring between the 2 as if the taco wire is burnt out it will jump right up to spin let me know how you get onAugust 18, 2006 at 7:38 pm #185405Penguin45

If it’s doing the same with two motors and two timers, I’d be tempted to look at the motor plug very carefully.

I Started at the beginnig again, pluged in another motor=the same,
Tryed a defferant motor=perfect,
The problem was the motor i pluged in at the beggining (not new) had the same fault, what are the chances of that.August 23, 2006 at 8:31 am #185408DDSDDS

did you check the wire between the two if it is burnt and you have jiggled it it may be making contact again and develop same fault in a wash or two

YES check wiring between timer plug and motor plug and give motor plug wires a wiggle is one of the first things i do,
I most have takon that motor off a writeoff machine without knowing what the fault was on that machine,
I was ready to tell them to call Hotpoint, i am glad i got it in the end,
AND i most not put 2nd hand spares on the shelve without knowing they are O K. -
