ParticipantI have a neff built in dishwasher and the top spray arm dos’nt rotate while spraying, it does rotate easily if pushed.
I’ve checked the pipework and cleaned out, and water comes out of the jets.
the bottom arm works fine
model no 56000 40 085 (8003) w13 on the outside of the book.
any ideas please.August 17, 2006 at 6:15 pm #185517gegsy

You will need to get the model thats etched onto the side of the stainless steel door.
It could be a few things but will be able to tell you more when you supply that.Greg

Hiya Greg,
I had looked for a model number on the door but just didn’t see it. It was your etching clue that gave it away.
After a bit of a wipe the following number was revealed
S5433XOGB/17 and also FD8012 420443
thank you
Michael

If you look at the rear of the filters, you should see a dual plastic tube that goes up the rear internal cavity to a manifold that feeds the top basket.
Where this tube assembly locates in the rear of the filter, is it actually fully seated and not popped out?Greg

It is fully seated and there are two screws holding it in place.
There is also a waster spray at the top of the machine and water comes out from here also.

If the spray arm is clear and free running and the feed tube is clear and in place, then it must be water starvation. By that I mean insufficient water getting into the machine to the tub in the first place?
To check this, allow machine to operate for around 5 mins, stop it and open the door. The water should be lapping the Salt container cap. If not then the water level mechanism needs a good clean out and time to call in an expert for that (see link below).
Just one other possibility? Take off the plastic tube at the bottom (undo the 2 screws) lift this off gently and take a peek down the 2 pipes! It won’t be the first time I’ve fished out 3 in 1 tablet plastic wrappers from there!! 😉

Checked the pipes before first posting and all is clear. The water level dosn’t come beyond the top of the filter/strainer, so it looks like its time for an expert. Thank you for your time. Your database dosn’t seem to cover experts in the west of ireland.

Hi
If you remove the front plinth of appliance and then remove ribbed foot length hose which goes from sump to metering unit. Clean it and then put it back in.
Please un plug appliance first and if you get all the water out of sump area where filters sit, with a cloth you won’t get any water dribbling when you remove that hose, it just O rings in BTW.Greg
