ParticipantHi all, I was hoping someone can help me out here. I have an error code E14 which i know is to do with the heating. In your experiences, is it likley to be the element, thermostat, pcb or anything else?
The machine completes the wash and only shows the error at the end.
Any help would be much apprciated.
Thanks
Colin

It could be either the element or the NTC, if it does not get hot during wash then element is likely fault, if it gets too hot then NTC is suspect. Control units causing boiling did happen a while ago, not seen any recently though. The only way to be certain is to check out these components with the correct test equipment, and the mains plug removed of course.

Hi, thanks for replying. I initially thought about the element as the water is not heating up, but if that was the case, would the machine not stop as it had not reached the correct temrature?
Thanks

Most machines made in the last eight or ten years, this one included will sense no rise in temp after a set period of time and then move the programme onto the next step. Often the only time the customer realises there is a problem is with a heavily soiled load.

Thanks again for your reply. Ok so the most obvius thing for me to check is the element i would have thought. I guess a simple continuity check and a check for a short would show up, if i check the resistance of it, any ideas what i should expect to see?
Thanks again
Colin

Resistance should be around 22Ω to 25Ω The element incorporates an internal fuse which can fail.

Thanks again for your help, I’ll have a look at the element. One last question, is the element accesable from the back or is it an in the front jobby?
Thanks very much for help again, it is very much appreciated.
Cheers Colin
