ParticipantMy was hin machine has had an intermittent problem which tonight has become permanent. When it finished the spin cycle it was on it won’t release the door. It seems to get stuck and won’t move on to the “End”.
Has anyone else had this problem?
If anyone can shed any light on this it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.August 20, 2006 at 8:49 pm #185915MikeLawrence

We’ve managed to get the door open by pressing the reset button until it flashed and leaving it for about quarter of an hour however we still need to know what’s causing it and whether we should scrap it and buy another or whether replacing the broken component would be economical.

A quick and simple test would be to run the machine through a programme then when it reaches the end of its cycle switch off at the mains or remove the plug imediately. If the door still takes a long time to open ( more that 2 mins) then the door interlock is faulty. Not an expensive repair, parts can be obtained via this site. Please make sure you remove the mains plug before you attempt any inspection etc.
PS. If the door opens within a couple of minutes then you have a possible control module fault which may in itself have been damaged by a fault in the door interlock, or a hose or pump blockage. If the machine is in otherwise good condition, no excessive noise when turning the drum by hand etc then it should be worth having repaired. Check the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help if needed.

It probably thinks it’s still full of water (even if it isn’t), so the electronics won’t release the door as you’ll flood your kitchen. Worth checking sump hose/filter assembly for crud; possible that the water level switch is not functioning as it should.
Power off if investigating – if you’re not confident, click the link below for an engineer in your area.

go for door lock ,if its board the door would not lock as it blows either triac off or track.

That surely is where the problem lies? (or I’ll eat Goatboy!) 😆
