Participantcan someone please help me? We had a lightning strike near our house which tripped all the electrics. When it was switched back on the washing machine would not do anything even after reseting it.
I thought it was probably the module so i have renewed it however all it does now is take water in and pump straight back out, the dial constantly clicks round and the on light flashes three times. I have searched this and other websites and changed both the pressure switch and the temperature sensor to no effect.
I have checked the continuity of the wires to the temp sensor and that there is current going to it. I am now thinking that the new module i received is knackered but before i make a fool of myself i was hoppening that someone might be able to offer something that i have missed.
Any help is greatly appreciated.August 21, 2006 at 1:23 pm #185976Simon46

There is an EEPROM on the board with the appliance Program cycles contained. Has the new board got one on it and do you know if it is programmed? Power off before checking.

If i am right the eprom is the black piece of metal with what looks like cooling fins on each end at the back left of the board. if so then yes the new board has it fitted but i do not know if it is programmed correctly. i would seriously like to hope that the firm that sent me the board would have sent it pre-programmed.

spoke to the company who supplied the board and they sent me a diagram showing the eeprom. Had a look at the new board and it wasn`t fitted. Had to de-solder the chip off of the old board and i have fitted it to the receptor on the new board. The machine will now carry out the spin cycle, however when a wash cycle is selected the light flashes then stays on showing the machine has accepted the command however it won`t do anything. Any ideas that could help?

Chip Possibly lost some or all of its programming. Try replacement EEprom.
