I have had a look on the forum at the other questions regarding this problem.
The boyfriend has had the back off, and everything looks ok. He has checked what he thinks is the thermal fuse (it is attached to the galvanised plate backing for the heating element) and that is conducting electricity.
The clean filter light is on (although clean)
The reverse action is fine.
Even if the heating element looks fine, could it be broken??

nearly every time it is the thermal fuse on these machines he should disconnect the fuse from the wiring harness to make sure it is not just reading right round the dryer, then test it through for continuity

He disconnected the two spayed plug sockets that are attached to the wiring harness in the previous test and it is conducting electricity (I, being a girl assume that this means it is OK!!). He has assumed that the thermal fuse is this one and not the one that has wires that are soldered to it. Is this correct???

the thermal fuse if fitted will be about 3 mil in diameter and a centimeter long with wires built into it extending outwards which are then clamped onto the wiring harness as you look at the machine from the backj it will sit on the left hand side if he has tested the thing on top then that is the thermostat and rarely cause a problem on this appliance
i think the wires that come out of it disapear straight away through two holes either end of the fuse they are clamped on

He was checking something else. The thermal fuse has gone.
I was looking online for a fuse and got a little confused with all different types and ratings. Is there a standard that is put into tumble dryers???
My brother in law is an electrical engineer, but I can’t get hold of him at the moment and I want to buy one so he can fit it this weekend!!Re: Candy CIC60 No heat

the rating should be written on the side of it i thhink they are 85 but i could be thinking of something else entirely,
most appliance spares shops should have them try to see if you can get one from this site or for speed find your local spares shop and take in the old one,
alll you need though is the fuse it comes seperate from the element make sure you dont go out and buy a complete element or get talked into it
this fault is caused by several things
1 not emptying the filter regular
2 overloading
3 not allowing the machine to complete the final cool down part of the cycle the machine needs this as much as the clothes do do not open the door even to just check on the clothes or it will happen againRe: Candy CIC60 No heat

I took the fuse to the electrical shop and got a replacement (well a pack of 5 for less than £3!!!).
The boyfried fitted it and we have heat!!!
I think I overloaded it, and didn’t let it cool down properly. Wont be doing that again!!!
