    I have a Hotpoint SDW60, which fails to start a wash, I know nothing at all about dishwashers so any help would be appreciated. I know that water goes through the inlet pipe ok and makes a brief start up noise when programme is selected, then after 30sec or so starts beeping then the Fast & Dry and Prewash lights flash and thats how it stays. Any ideas anyone???

    Can you tell us which neons by number from the left are flashing?

    1st,2nd,3rd for example.

    It is the 4th & 5th from the left

    That suggests a drain time out error ( it hasn’t emptied in the allotted time ) or a software recognition error.

    If it is doing that at the start then it looks as though you may have problems with the electronics. Not an easy DIY fix, possibly time to call in an engineer. Check the link in my Sig to see if we have someone who can help.
    Also remember that your parts are covered by a five year guarantee.
