Hi,
I have a hotpoint FDW60 dishwasher, and I’ve got a problem with it.
2 flashing lights (3 and 4 from the left, Fast and Economy), and the dishwasher won’t drain. I’ve checked the outlet and that seems ok – not blocked.
I can’t find much about it in the manual, apart from one of the lights being a “water solenoid error”. I guess that’s caused by the machine being full of water though.
Any thoughts / help on what’s causing it and what I can do to fix it?

3+4 flashing is not good news, suggests a control system fault. 😥
Not a DIY fix to be honest. Click the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help. Remember your machines is covered by the manufacturers ( Indesit ) five year parts guarantee, you would only have to pay them a labour charge, just under £90 ATM. :rolls:

Ho hum, I was starting to get the sneaking suspicion that it might not be a DIY job. I did call Hotpoint about it – they seemed to think it was an engineer job too.

Did you ever solve the problem with your dishwasher? I have the same fault on an FDW50 – Eco and Fast lights flashing, i was just wondering if you ever sorted it, and if so what did they have to replace?

Yes – it was a blocked pump in the end.
Apparently it was detectable audibly – when starting, the unit should have gurgled as the pump kicked in to make sure it was drained before starting the next wash cycle.
In my case… silence, then the water started whooshing in (please excuse the technical terms!).
Once the pump had been cleared it was fine again – 15 minutes work for a chap who knew what he was doing and who had the tools.

Sounds good, thats what i wanted to hear – i dont like the sound of control board problems! Well i shall have a go this evening at unblocking my pump. If it works…i owe you some beers next time you are in Cardiff!!

That just illustrates the problems we have with these Italian disasters. The error codes are at best a guide, at worst no use at all, glad you got it sorted.

hi i have an fdw50.. i had a water leak coming from the pump.. after i rectified that and tried to use it ..sparks started shoot off the ( what i think is the transformer) . so i left it for about a week or so hoping it might dry off… after switching on it was fine it filled up then heated the water then the fast and delicate lights started to flash..??? it did not drain either???
is it the pcb..????
would appreciate any help…… many thanks
