    Hallo,I need some help please.
Due to an accident my belling format 628 ceramic top has been broken 😥
I am claiming on my home insurance for a replacement .
This cooker was @9years old and when purchased it was a top of the range model with a retail price of@£900.
The replacement offered is a hotpoint with a retail of @£500 which looks like a low spec model.
I have told the insurance company that the hotpoint is not acceptable as I do not consider it to be a similer new for old replacment.
Two of the features on the belling that I am asking for are the child proof/safety controls(they work like a child proof top )also the setting nunbers are behind glass so the numbers cannot be cleaned off.
So far I have only found one cooker with the controls,an electrolux EKT6045X @£900 ,,as this also has touch control it would also protect the numbers from cleaning damage.
Now I have to wait for an inspection to see if my controls are child proof/safety ones.
    🙁
Are there any other freestanding electric cookers with this feature ❓
    Thanks

Re: Electric freestanding with child proof controls

An unusual feature that most manufacturers seem reluctant to incorporate, I cannot find any others and could sympathise with manufacturers, very little can be titled “Child Proof”, their little minds and fingers will find ways to explore that are hard to imagine. Most manufacturers, while having good safety features, would be reluctant to state “Child Proof” for fear of later Litigation.

I agree that child proof would be impossible.
On the electolux they are called “child safety lock”
This seems to be the only cooker with this on .
    Thanks
