ParticipantJust a little moan [helps the day go by],why do manufactures start by using phillps crosshead screws then just as you’re getting into the m/c they switch to pozi-drive screws. I know you can still undo ’em but eventually knacks up you’re screw driver ! 👿 Also they sneak in torx type screws ,but even then the sizes alter for no reason at all 😈 it seems to be mostly dishwashers at the mo’ but I can see it spreading like a virus 😡 😥 😳 on to other m/cs .A’m i cracking up or have i started something ❓
Another thing aren’t modern kitchens small,& why do customers insist on fitting energy saving lite bulbs in the kitchen, carn’t see bugger all.Oh god i’ve started now,i can hear the Ambulance coming for me already!!! 😆 😕 and another thing…….blah blah… 8) 🙂September 13, 2006 at 9:40 pm #188036Phidom

Can’t say I’d noticed Phillips and posidrive on the same appliance. My default screwdriver is posidrive as that seems to be right for Hotpoint/Creda. I tend to use the Phillips on microwaves though as they are mostly Japanese or at least non European. Full marks for Whirlpool though as they have screws that can be undone with a 7mm socket or a torx driver.

Sorry guys but here is another moan 😡 took a new T/Bendix Auto w/m out t’other day ,connected up the fill hose & outlet hose ,only to find the bl**dy mains lead 6inches short 👿 😈 .Always ‘appens when you’re busy, just like a few years ago T/Bendix fitted very short outlet hoses, which everybody knows is not a 2min job to swap on ’em!!!!
I know it’s not the end of the world but it’s these little things that we sometimes just don’t need, what bugs you ❓ -
