ParticipantA bit of a strange one this…. we have a 4 year old integrated Siemens dishwasher that has been no trouble to date.
Yesterday we noticed that the door appears to have pivoted to the right on its lower left hand corner so that the door is out of alignment with the rest of the units around it by about half to one centimeter at the top & bottom of the door.
It still works perfectly well , its sealed , it dosn’t leak, but its now rubbing on the unit doors next to it & I am concerned that whatever has changed inside it will break……
In addition, if you try to lift the door to realign it when it is almost vertical there is play in it & it will move.
I’ve taken off the plinth under the units – but can’t see anything visibly broken or failing…
Any ideas?

Open the door, look at the edges – there should be a plastic plug on each side. Remove it, there is a screw under each one. The decor door will be the problem – slipped on the mountings. Slacken the screws, straighten the door out, retighten the screws. You might like to consider that the two corner screws at the top of the door can be removed and replaced by screws passing through the door, into the decor panel. Usually sorts it once and for all.

Thanks. I will check it out later when I get home from work.
One thing though, having looked already at the decor door, I’m pretty sure that it is still firmly attached to the door of the dishwasher and that it had a uniform distance to the edge all around it. This would suggest to me that it hasn’t slipped.
I was thinking more along the lines of a hinge problem…?
I’ll come back to you once I’ve checked it out.

OK,
I have checked the decor door & it has not slipped or moved.
So it has to be a hinge problem I think…any other suggestions?

Does anyone have any other ideas what might be causing this – My hinge suggestion might be completely wrong……….if it is right – how can I fix it?

I know its a while since this was posted – but in case anyone else has the same problem, we have now solved it.
It turns out that one of the supporting levelling feet had moved out of alignment. A few quick turns of the levelling screw raised the front corner of the dishwasher & hey presto – the cabinet was squared up & the door now closes properly.
Simple really – but there again things always are once you know the answer.
Thanks for your help anyway!
