ariston margerita 2000 awd125 problem

ok, so I go to put the washing on and low and behold there’s a problem just as it starts to do it’s thing.

I notice the programme select dial is constantly turning (common fault I know) but I’m getting eight flashes from the power light/led.

I’ve checked the drain plug under the kick panel and nothing there but that’s as far as my knowldge goes with such things.

I’ve done a search of the forum but can’t find what 8 flashes means. If anyone can point me in the right direction, It;s be greatefully appreciated?
