ParticipantHello all you helpful people.
I originally thought this was an inlet valve problem. However, when testing again last night it would appear not to be the case.
The manual programme selector does not click and advance consistenty. It does for best part of main prog (start to final rinse I think), but not for rinse prog, last bit of main prog. manually advancing means that it fills, cleans, drains, etc. But it just sits there unless you turn the dial! Bit of a problem for the fill stage this. Still mopping and missus not happy.
Any ideas? Can you still purchase/replace these thisgs?

You haven’t mentioned heat – timer will stop up to three times in any given programme until temperature is reached.
Timer will be available if required.

Thanks Penguin45,
When it was happily moving through the main prog, I don’t recall any heat. But why would it fill & drain correctly, then continue filling without stopping during the same prog?
Do I email the usual address for a quote for a timer? It has to be that. As I say, the rinse only prog with no heat just keeps on filling. Move the dial, it just keeps on rinsing!
I’m fed up with fairy!
Cheers

Definitely a bit odd……. The inlet valve is switched on at any given fill position on the timer by the same switch. The supply is cut off by the water level control (or pressure) switch. When the timer advances past fill, the switch in the timer is effectively no longer in circuit anyway. If there was an issue with the water level control, this should manifest itself at all fill positions……..
Timer is always a possibility for “not logical” faults, however I can’t be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} with the diagnosis. Perhaps checking for burnt connectors/connector blocks at the timer itself would be a good start point – carbon conducts and all sorts of strange things can then happen.
Power off, of course.
spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk is the place to ask if you are absolutely that the timer is the culprit.
