ParticipantHi Folks
Went to one today – noisy on spin – suspect bearing moving in bearing hub as bearing nice and smooth but up and down play in drum.
Looks like bearing asy comes as spare part and comes out from back of tub after removing 4 bolts…
1) Am I right in thinking this as don’t want to order part to find I have to take tub/drum out as there is a plate inside the drum which falls down inside tub when I remove bearing hub?
2) Anything I should be aware of as I take off hub as it all looks to straight forward as if someone has thought about the repair aspect which is vertually none existant these days!! 😯
Thanks guys

Its easy to do as long as you can get the 4 x T40 torx bolts out.
Part number for hub is 481252018065 retail approx £66 + VAT
The back half of the tub is part number 481241818318 at £75 + VAT, the back half comes with the hub fitted.

Thanks Johnmac
Bolts should come out ok as loosened and tightened them just to make sure that that a loose bolt not causing the prob.. it’s just that the housing looks quite simple to change I keep suspecting a catch!
Thanks again

Sorry Alister.. Ordered part b4 I read your post..
Been back and replaced hub today but cant believe how easy it was.. paniced a bit when didn’t come of in my hand but then couldn’t believe that there were noches on hub to get extractor on and then came of a doddle..
Why oh why oh why can’t manifactures take a leaf from this example and make a job easy and practicable insead of all the crap, inaccesible, labour intensive rubbish that they turn out now…
This machine has got my vote of recomandation now.. just hope they haven’t gone loopy on the new machines..

The removeable hub is sadly not fitted any any appliances now.
Now we have a complete back half tub, proably saved the bean counters 10p on the build costs 😈 -
