    Dear forum readers!
I’ve ordered a new (ELE4207) element today for my smeg 398x/1 cooker … this is the second time i’ve had to replace the element (hopefully this will resolve the cooker not heating like it did before).

I just wondering if elements have a poor life span, as the last one was replaced at christmas, and was a genuine smeg part from interspares. When it went it tripped the rcd on the mains, so will find out at the weekend if it sorts it out.

Just wondering if anyone could help me identify if I am able to order a replacement fan for the unit as it is noisy. I don’t think it is the element fan, but the other one, and seems to start making a noise once it gets warm. If the element works, I probably order the fan as well.

Thank you for your assistance in advance.

    Best regards, Adrian.

Tells you a bit about fan elements. Noisy fan motor = slow running = fan not taking heat off the element = overheat + failure.

Fan motor is p/no 699250029 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.
