my creda tcr2 dryer has stopped heating ,i suspect the thermostats in the rear with the element are at fault .
i have checked them for continuity and the stat with the small hole in the rear and a white painted dot appears to pass no current.
could someone please confirm this has failed and supply a part number as im having trouble locating the correct part for this machine.
    many thanks….

Thermostats should be normally closed when spilt from the circuit.
Replacement kit is 1703200 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.

    Power off at all times.

thanks for your reply penguin .
i take it ,if the one shot stat has failed if it should be open when disconected from the circuit and it would fail any continuity tests.
any idea what causes these to blow as i dont want it to repeat when new ones are fitted ,the machine is only 13 months old.
    cheers…. 😀

    Hi

Do not stop the dryer mid cycle to check on how dry the load is, always let it continue to the end and complete the cool down phase.

Also be sure to keep the condensor clean & clear. A little more difficult on these later machines due to the way the front part of the condensor is constructed. A pressure hose in the back garden is the best solution.
