I have an Arisotn Margharita 2000 ALD12Uk. It’s about 4 years old. Two things are wrong with it:-

First, when the machine gets to the end of the cycle, the drum continues to turn slowly, and the dial does not move on to the dot which indicates finished. This means that if I put a load of washing on before I go to work, the machine’s still going when I come home again, several hours later. When I switch the machine on, the indicator light that shows that the drying cycle has been selected comes on, even though the dials for temperature and length of drying time are both set to ‘0’.

The second thing is that there is something rubbing on the outside of the drum as it turns. It sounds metallic and I’m almost certain that it’s an underwire from one of my bras – I’ve got one that’s missing a wire.

Reallistically, are either of these things something I’ll be able to fix myself, or should I call an engineer?

In fact 3 things are wrong with, you forgot to add that it is really an Indesit. 😥

To be honest your faults do suggest that an experienced engineer would be your best option.

Click the link in my sig or the Red Toolbox on the left to see if we have someone who can help.

Fair enough, I will find an engineer. I didn’t know Indesit made it – it says “Ariston” on it.

It is often difficult to know who actually makes what these days, A large number of ‘well known’ household names are now just rebadged appliances, mainly from Italy but a few oriental disasters creeping onto the market as well. 😥

    Jim.
