    Hi,
I am getting a F13 code when running a drying cycle. The 3 thermostats have been replaced after I was getting F8/F10 codes. Can anyone advise what else might need replacing? Or have any suggestions?

Rear NTC sensor problem. Can be sensor, wiring or computer board.

Rear sensor/thermostat has been replaced, wiring is fine, so I guess its the board – Do these break a lot? Cost £55 direct from Hotpoint, is that cheap?

When you get the F-13 error code btw, you can’t turn the machine off, using the on/off button, the LCD panel just blinks off for 2 seconds and comes back flashing the error code again, while the drum is still going. Definately a board problem? Dont want to fork out £50 if thats not it!

    Cheers

Edward, I have no way of knowing for sure what the problem is. Bear in mind that the NTC device is not a thermostat, it is a negative thermal coefficient sensor (hotter it gets=lower resistance) – they can and do fail – they can also appear to work, but be out of calibration. Computer doesn’t like it, anyways.

If you are going to investigate this yourself, you will need a multimeter and the ability to use it safely and correctly. If you can’t go down that route, a service call is your only choice. Stay safe, power off – or click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area.

There is far better quality product out there.
