    any ideas what this optical indicator is ❓ the fault on the dishwashers display is FA and 11 flashes.fault code says, optical water indicator. any ideas what it is 💡 and where it is ❓ and how to fix it ❓ thanks all.

    Filter Sump at 3 o’clock. I usually find spaghetti or fat covering it.

    hi its a 2 inch diameter black thing! fits into sump, if you take out filters absorb water out of sump you will see it on right hand side, it can be cleaned, if the users are scruffy gets, it clogs up, if after cleaning it still shows error it will need replacing.

    It sends a light signal through the water & the is measured by a receiver, if the water is clean it saves rinsing, & if still dirty will do further rinses, thats how the Miele one works anyhow

    Same idea as the Neff, Bosch and Siemens turbidity sensor then.
