I have read the posts on this one. I could do with some advice please. Model no is 8586 151 15011 and 11 0402 011765, the fridge has blinking lights on the exterior, it cools Ok.

I was hoping it was just the rear circuit board, this had been changed out within 4 months of the fridge arriving in April 2004/i.e. board change summer 2004. I swapped out the rear board, but still get the same blinking effect and the new board didn’t fire the compressor, hence I put the old one back with the lovely crackly (arcing) capacitors! at least I havea cold fridge.

I guess I need the front board too (wherever it lurks) and am hoping that you can confirm this. This will now require a call out as I am running out of time, I will call Whirlpool and have a serious grumble as the build quality and components are shoddy, 2.25 years is not good enough . I was surprised to find the old board in the rear as I thought I may have a got a new one, when the engineer visited last time.

Any help and advice is much appreciated, thanks

    update

found the front panel PCB, powered off and took it out, things seem marginally better on replacement as the light has now stopped blinking (lowered temp to -19 on freezzer may have helped too)

Any advice on where to source a new front PCB? Is this the likely cause and change out both PCB’s

or should I call the engineer 😕
