ParticipantHi folks,
I have the above machine which has worked flawlessly for a couple of years until last Saturday.
I set the machine to wash and it starts to fill up but after about 10 seconds it stops and a warning light stating the door is open comes on. The door isn’t open of course !!
I’ve tried it on every wash cycle available and the same thing happens.
Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is. Is it repairable and at what cost ?
Should I just buy a new machine ?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Greg,
Thank you for the quick reply.
Apologies for my lack of knowledge but what do you mean by “check the brushes lengths” ??
Steve.

Hi Steve
The brushes are in the motor and may have worn down (New are app 1.5 inch). If you are unsure and need an engineer please use the link below.Greg

Greg,
I’ve just mamaged to remove the motor from the machine. Surprisingly easy and only one bolt !!
I’m now looking at the motor and apart from a few connection sockets on the edges of it, the unit looks as if it’s sealed. Am I wrong ? If so is a special spanner/socket needed to undo the bolts ?
What am I looking for in respect of the bushes. Are they metal and black ? How many of them are there.
Thanks again,
Steve.

Hi
On either side of the motor there should be two black plastic elongated holders, which have fly leads going to them and attached by two screws either side of the holder.
Remove in turn and check the length as previosly stated. If they are required to be changed, an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will sort you out.

Greg,
I’ve removed the two black elongated holders and both contain what I can best describe as a piece of charcoal coloured metal ? attached to a spring with a metal cable connector at the other end.
Do I have to remove the two pieces to measure them ? If so how do I get them out ??
Many thanks,
Steve.

Once you have removed the black holders you will see how long the carbon (not charcoal although similar) brush is. If its barely visible above the holder then it is worn and will need replacing.

Greg,
Thank you for the quick reply.
On both holders the bush is sitting proud of the holder by 1 centimetre.
I guess I need two replacements ??
Any ideas how much they are ??
Thank you.

Hi Greg,
I’ve just replaced the bushes and it hasn’t cured the problem.
I set it up to wash, the water starts to come in but after a few seconds the door open warning light comes on and the washer and filling stops. During this process the programmer/timer or whatever you call it keeps making a clicking/ticking noise.
With this in mind I can only assume it is the programmer/timer that is faulty ??
Dread to think what they cost so maybe better to go for a new machine.
What are Beko like ??
Cheers,
Steve.

They are ok. Bosch,Siemens and Miele are top machines.
You could have a look at the ISE machine that we recommend
