Not too clued on Miele as I probably see one every five or so years.
on this , the customer complains of the door opening during dry. I thought it may be a worn latch or similar but this is electrical. The door release operates frequently during drying as if the button is pressed resulting in the loud release click (solenoid operated I think 😳 ).
    Anyone got clues 😥

Check the filters in the door aperture and the ducting down to the circ fan.

Miele t/ds do this when they are blocked up with lint.

    Cheers Gents,
This drier is in the tightest space possible and the vent hose runs under the units where it can’t be accessed. It ran ok once I’d got it out with the hose disconnected, but once back in it was opening all the time. I’ll go back and check the hose tomorrow.

Reading this and the rest of the post rings distant bells….. I think that the overheat shut off is to fire the door open to lose the heat. Temp drops, resets, runs to next overheat, clunk……. Ventilation problem, I’d think.

    Thanks all,
Was indeed a dump truck full of sh**e in the restricted hose. 😀
When she was shown that the crushed/bent hose was the problem i got the usual ‘well it’s been ok for the last ten years’.
Customers eh!! You gotta love ’em.
