Spanked Up!

At the recent UKW meeting we told people about a part, just one amongst many, where some of the trade were getting totally spanked up on the price of just this one part. This is but one example, we have many, many more.

Now, as then, we’re not naming names and we’re not pointing the finger, there’s no point.

What there is a point in doing however, is making the part available at a sensible price.

The part in this case is the Samsung evaporator cover which you can see using this link to the shop and this is published with a retail price on it. Trade discount will be given with the proper identification which will substantially reduce that price again. But, since we have some people having to pay way over £160 for the same part I’m guessing that even our retail price seems cheap.

We also know that one insurer is being billed over £200 for that part and that people is just so shocking it’s got to be bordering on criminal. No wonder the insurers think we’re crooks, but I’d argue that in many cases it isn’t us. Enough said, I’m sure that the insurers will want to look into this themselves.

Hope that helps some people get jobs which they’d otherwise loose because of a stupid spares price or to get more profitable.

We may look at more such instances and set up some sort of buying arrangement either using UKW or one of the proper trade suppliers to supply.
