A Bosch WFF1401 who’s owner lives near Chester had problems with the machine, “not filling” when rinsing the load of washing he was doing. Service man contacted – who came almost immediately – sucked his teeth and said it needed a new motor and a new cold water inlet valve.

Owner decided to cut his losses, went out and bought his wife a new Miele washer and to get rid of the old machine put it on FreeCycle as suitable for spares or repairs.

Having read on these wonderful forums about the quality of Bosch machines, I acquired the machine for nothing (part of FreeCycle’s rules, stuff has to be given away) thinking that for less than the price of a Beko or similar low end model, I’d get the Bosch fixed.

What a bargain it’s turned out to be! It wasn’t filling because it wasn’t empty – there was a hairgrip stuck in the pump impellor. Took hairgrip out, cleaned the soap drawer out, ran a maintenence wash (Green Aerial!!) and it’s now working perfectly.

There’s a service man out to make a quick buck in the Chester area, obviously nobody to do with UK Whitegoods as everyone on here is too helpful and honest from the dealings I’ve had previously!

So thanks, UK Whitegoods, I’ve got a fully functional Bosch washing machine (made in Germany, as well!) for £0.00, all because I read your forums!!!!
