Hi, I have a Hotpoint WMA57 which seems to pulse the water inlet valves at the end of a program at the same time as the machine tries to release the door interlock. This continues sometimes for 10 minutes or more until the drum is half full of water. It can be stopped by turning the prgram knob to off. I suspect there is a suppression fault in the interlock mechanism possibly on the main control board. Any help ?

I does sound like the Control Module (Part No:1604321) is at fault?

You will only know the answer to that question by plugging in and configuring a new Module though?

Thanks Martin. hmmmmm 80 quid for a new board or 32 pence for a new suppression capacitor. I know you probably can’t answer this but is this a known/ usual fault.

Well I personally haven’t heard of it to be honest? 😕

But if the fault is that 32p suppression capacitor then I would appreciate if you will let us know the outcome? (and indeed where on the board the device is?) In the trade we tend to stick in complete boards rather than puzzle over the individual components on them, if you catch my drift? 😉
