Twice in the last couple of weeks our machine has “stuck” halfway through the rinse cycle (or a normal 50 degree wash). It had been stuck there for sometime before I noticed it (probably an hour) and when I opened up the machine everything was clean and dry and there was no water in the bottom of the machine. When I closed the door again the machine just sat there still making the same pumping? sound. Off/On cycle had the same effect.

The only way to get the machine out of this state was to set it to “pre-rinse” and turn it off/on again. The machine then did a rinse and was back to normal.

Any ideas as to what would cause this behaviour? The machine was in the house when we moved in 3 years ago so I’ve no idea how old it is and we haven’t got a manual.

Well it could be a number of things really and unless it happens again I wouldn’t worry about it. 😉

The most likely cause though is gunge blocking the main sump hose from the metering tank? Sticking float switch etc etc?

If it ain’t broke don’t mend it OK? 😉
