Participantwont drain…
no blockages any where..this is an intergrated app, funny looking thing, not you usual hotpoint..filter at front..
fill up w/m…turn to drain pump runs but no drain…
remove filter and water will run out…proves no blockages to that point…remove otlet hose from sink and at pump ..blow down and put a 5p coin through hose …hose was clear..
no debris in filter chamber either…i replaced pump just in case…
but still wont drain..lie outlet hose flat and water comes out..
if i blow down o/let hose at sink and then switch on it will drain…
this is a total heed scratcher….is it me am i missing something ???

Oh you have a beauty there! You lucky thing you! π
I guess you have checked for 240v at the pump terminals and traced the supply back to the module to see if the connections are OK?
If so, then Module I would think? :con:

i was begining to think that way martin…
the only thing that stopped me checking was that if i blew into o/let hose putting air into w/m…it would then drain…must be getting 240 ?
but i think thats what im going to check next..
ps who makes this thing….October 12, 2006 at 5:15 pm #191949Bernie

Donβt know if it will help but when I worked for Servis many years ago we had a model I think it was the 308 that did just the same.
The pump was mounted on a bracket that was to high, so that when the machine was full of washing and water the sump
hose went up to the pump and caused an air lock.
Servis brought out a mod, a smaller bracket for the pump to sit on.Bernie

I THINK THERE IS A BALL IN THE SUMP HOSE ? MAYBE IT IS STICKING OR MAYBE A LARGER COIN IN EMPTY HOSE ACTING LIKE ABUTTERFLY VALVE ? LET US KNOW OUT COME ! LARRY [DAL]

its made by smeg, if the pump runs it must be a sock or something in sump hose, take off at tub end and have a look. there is no ball in sump on this model, it has a flap valve set up going by manuel.

cheers for replies guys…
i have checked all hoses 3 times..had sump hose of at the tub…looked at flap valve.pulled heater out to have a look into tub..pushed outlet onto tap and turned on..pushed nut -bolts down outlet hose…
this is so weird…when it doesnt drain, if you loosen filter water will come out. so its not as if no water getting down to filter…ive got a hunch that their may be a bit of the filter missing, ie the bit that you screw out…
had this once before on a whirlpool and thats what it was…
any one got apicture of what the filter should look like ???
cheers ..October 12, 2006 at 10:30 pm #191953Dave_Conway

Bernie may have the answer I think, air lock in the sump hose. It’s quite a long one (Matron! π― )
Has it sagged in the middle, Hoover Logics used to suffer from this ? π
