    Hi all,

My washer fills with water when I drain the sink! I have to keep draining the washer every couple of days as it stinks! I have a standard waste pipe system from the sink with the washer pipe coming off it. It’s not blocked or anything..

    any ideas?

    Cheers.

Yes….you need to raise and secure part of the drian hose well above the point that it attaches to the sink waste. That way the water will not run uphill from the watse before travelling down and into the washer.

Thanks Clive. I didn’t think of that!
I know this is a silly question (but I’ll ask it anyway).. will the washer still be able to pump the water out during normal use if I lift its waste pipe higher?

    Cheers

Yes no problem. IIRC the specs on a Zanussi say the pump has a maximum head of 3m so raising the hose another six inches or so underneath the sink will be fine.

I’ll do that as soon as I get home.
    Thanks for your help Clive.
