ParticipantWhats gone wrong with our Bosch WFF2000 Washing Machine?
It was washing; got to the end of the progamme and did not spin properly; but manages to pump all the standing water out.
Emptied the washing; tried running another wash cycle with it empty to find that the drum spins too fast for a few seconds then stops; rather than slowly rotating like it should do during a wash??. Then pre-wash light starts to flash on and off
Tried to get it to do a spin cycle; the pump is running but again the drum spins fast for a few seconds then stops??; again pre-wash light starts to flash on and off.
Checked the drain filter and thats clear.
Taken the back off nothing obviously burnt out; belt is still on properly; main bearing seems fine; no leaks.Could it be the brushes in the motor? Would this make it spin tooo fast in a wash cycle then stop?
Or is it the main control module? If it’s this then I presume this is the end for a 9 year old machine . . . 😥

Hi
Its either a tacho fault on the motor or a faulty timer/module.
Personally I would get an engineer to confirm as if misdiagnosed, you will be left with a very expensive spare.
Please use the link below if necessary to find a local engineer.Greg

Thanks for the speedy response
I’ll get a local engineer to have a look at the motor and give me a quote
Any idea of a ball park figure it woud be to repair?
Just weighing up if we need to be thinking of budgeting for a new machine seeing as this faulty one was manufacturered in May 97 according to the sticker on the underside of the top

Well Timer/Module is app £150+ VAT, Motor is approx £140 +VAT, then the engineers labour.

Diagnosed as the motor
Quoted £200 inc VAT and Labour
So considering that the main bearing is already noisey as well . . .
its time for a new machineWas told that Bosch are now made in Spain . . .
Is this true?Jo0Lz

Some are, some aren’t. Soon, some might be made in Poland……
Decent enough machine, your 2000 was a German one. If you budget for £350+ you’re guaranteed a German built replacement Bosch. However, for similar money, you might like to consider this:
