    machine takes water for approx 5secs then door open light flashes. Door is closed & locked. Is it door lock or more involved

    Motor – brushes or wiring.

    Takes in water, pump should run, then motor should turn. All part of the start up diagnostics.
    Check pump runs and as P45 said, carbons/wiring.
