ParticipantOK so how does it work? Looking at the parts list / diagrams I guess it uses a clever pressure system to activate the pumping out. But how does it know when its got enough water for the load? Mine just keeps letting water in through the rinse side of the inlet. From the moment the programme starts until it the prog fails at the spin cycle. By use of the external tap the cycle completes O.K.. Otherwise the inlet stays open regardless of programme selection until mains is pulled. I think there is a sensor I don’t know about, or the expensive bit is broken. 😥

The machine uses the displacement of air in a pressure chamber to force it into a diaphragm switch. They are connected by a thin air hose. Possible problems are the pressure chamber at the bottom becoming choked, the air hose being nipped, trapped, crushed or holed and the switch itself failing to click over.
However, as yours fills continuously as long as the programme is active, you have a failed triac on the computer board – in the “on” position. If you’re an electronics whizz, you can probably figure it out from there. If you’re not, you’ll have to replace the board.
We’ll need the rest of the eNr number to identify which board you need correctly – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply, but be advised that these aren’t cheap.
Power off at all times for anything other than observation,

Hi
The same module/pcb (447813) is used in all six models in that range.Greg

Thanks folks.
I have looked (cleaned) the pressure system. How does it work out the correct ammount of water for the load?
A triac …. I used to build sound to light systems with those… I’m not sure a soldering iron would work these days. Too many pcb’s with multi layers.
Cheers

which, as the water gets higher, more air is pushed up the tube and will activate different level switches to correspond accordingly to what cycle you are on. ie low water for wash and higher for the rinses.

A soldering iron works just fine on these
