    Went to the above machine last week and replaced the thermostat kit due to no heat and green spot stat being O/C.

    Tested machine which heated OK.

    Today customer called to say machine runs for about 7 minutes then just cuts out. If she waits a few minutes the machine can be restarted. it will again run for about 7 minutes and cut out until she restarts.

    My guess is the start relay is playing up but it seems odd as it’s just after changing the stat kit.

    Any thoughts on this would be appreciated,

    Almost certainly the relay, there is a chance it was going faulty before you called leading to the stat failure in the first place.

    The relay may actually cause the safety to trip…… Had that a couple of times recently.

    Not seen this myself but I can see it makes sense, same as stopping the machine mid cycle!

    It looks like I’ll be fitting a start relay.
