We have a Bauknecht fridge/freezer in our flat and tried to defrost it over the wknd. We neglected to empty the overflow tray in the rear of the fridge and some water spilled causing something to blow. Our landlord has been pver and said we need to replace a small plastic part to get it working again. I have no idea what it is called but a rough description is it sits between what look like two solid motor housings, and has the +, – and earth wires clips onto it. It is slightly bigger than a matchbox. It could possibly hold a couple of fuses but hard to tell as it is now melted. Theres not a lot of parts in the back of this fridge so I hoped someone might recognise what it is im talking about and where I can get a replcaement. Sorry I for being so vague, bit of a shot in the dark. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer. We’ve been without a fridge for a week!
First things first, Jon – get the model number and preferably the serial number as well, of the machine. Probably on a label in the salad bin area. Parts can be very model specific.
I found a label inside the fridge mostly written in french but ive jotted down what could be a model number..
Typ PCT 38 Classe N
No 01/7401
Im going to scan the net to see if I can find anything matching these numbers and hopefully nab that spare part.
Thankfully its been very cold in Chester recently so we’ve been keeping our milk and butter on a ledge out the back door!
