After a couple of washes recently with the ‘loud’ grinding noises, the inner basket is now completely detached from the drum.

As the machine is 6 years old and has done well, I’m loathe to ditch it.

Would you think its repairable, or should I be looking at the ISE washer as a replacement right now…

    Thanks

You’ll probably need a drum and shaft assembly – tank out job to fit. If you post up the model number we may be able to give an idea of cost of the parts.

At 6 years old, the other components are wearing out as well – drain pump motor, drive motor carbon brushes typically. If the drum support has broken, I’ll bet the door seal is covered in black marks as well……. If you want to keep it, do all of it, other wise, yes – ISE time.

    Thanks for the reply Penguin.

The model number on the front is a WS130.

The door seal doesn’t seem to have any black marks.

    Cheers

That may be you best option as replacing the drum is a very costly business I’m afraid. Assuming the worst damage has been inflicted you are looking at a cost up to £180 to rectify I would imagine. 🙁
