Symptoms: Continues indefinitely in what I assume to be first cycle. Barely warms the water. Does not pump out.
Readings: Element shows 25 ohms which seems to be about right.
Heat sensor in door panel shows 13000 ohms cold, and drops to 3000 when heated (using nearly boiling water).
My question(s): Am I right in thinking the heat sensor is the culprit here?
What should the readings be?
Or does the fact that it seems to be ‘working’ mean it must be something else?
I’d be very grateful for any suggestions.
If only you could see the outstanding quality of Teka’s service information. :rolls:
TBH what you have sounds about right. But not having the manual to hand, is that the one with the little red reset button on the underside of the stat below the heater? If it is, press it.
If not then it’s a possible PCB failure which is fairly commonplace on those machines.
No, I don’t think so. There’s no sign of any separate thermostat underneath with the heater (it’s the in line type).
The temp sensor I was referring to is in the door panel and pressed against the metal surface.
Just a thought, but if it were faulty, would it be possible to ‘trick’ it into allowing the heater to come on more by, say, sticking some insulating tape between it and the metal surface? just a one-off test I mean.
