Hi Dopper, thanks for your reply. I’ll have to ask her about that one.
Like a lot of other customers, they all say; “Well it never did that before you changed the???”
Thanks

Hi, Still having problems with this oven. I’ve changed the thermostat, fitted a new element and door seal. The oven doesn’t seem to be getting hot enough. Anyone else come across this?
Thanks.

Did you fit a genuine stat or a Euro stat which may have a lower temp setting .

Thanks Pip and Pgs. the cooling fan at the top is working fine.
As for the stat it’s a genuine one. As far as i know? it came in a box with a hotpoint label on it?
I’ll try a safety stat and see if that does the trick.
Thanks for your help.
much appreciated.

In all honesty some of the things being said here are confusing me , if it was cutting off prematurely on the safety stat surely the oven would be dead and reset when temperature dropped 😕 .
I think you really need to get a themometer and prove the fault rather than simply changing parts because customers can lead you on a merry dance if you let them :rolls:.

Two things spring to mind, was the element put in the same wattage as the one replaced if not it mightened heat up as quickly, secondly even though the fan is running it not be running as fast as it should due to dry bearings or something. Just a thought.
I recommend a thermocouple connected to your multimeter or a themperature meter . make sure you allow for a tolerance of about 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. If you set temp for 200 ,, expect anything from 180- 220..October 31, 2006 at 9:33 pm #193328Ashby

Thankyou Bryan And seamy for your reply. I haven’t checked the tempreture as yet.
I’m assuming the element i replaced was of the same wattage. It was a genuine one. I’m a bit confused as to what is happening. I’ll get a thermometer and check the temp.
Thankyou both for your help.

Hello, Me again with this oven.
I’ve noticed with this oven, unlike others i’ve worked on, that the thermostat is directly under the element. would this be causing the stat to cut in prematurely? A lot of ovens the stat seems to be at the top and the other side of the plate that covers the fan blades.
Thanks again.

Hi, went back to this oven last sat and moved the oven stat from underneath the element to the top of the oven. The customer phoned yesterday and said it’s now working fine. Does anyone know if Creda has modified this at all? I’d be interested to know.
Thanks.
