Hi all, I have a WHIRLPOOL AWZ7303 Condenser Tumble Dryer which runs correctly but does not heat up.
I had a pair of new thermostats and so fitted those as a first port of call but no joy.
    Obviously the heater and the blower thermostats are the next things that are possibly faulty but I have 2 questions;

    1) what is the best way to test the heater, I have a good voltmeter/ammeter to hand, what value should I be seeing, and

    2) how do I gain access to the blower thermostat which I believe is at the front of the machine? and what is the best way to test also?

    Thanks

    Steve

Element should read 20-30 ohms when disconnected. Access to front thermostat involves removing the drum.

Element is p/no 4812 319 18628 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for prices and ordering.

    Power off, of course.

Best way is on its contacts approx 20-30 ohms and check the stats that feed it aswell, they should be 0 ohms if intact.

You are correct it is front right and is quite popular to blow.If it is intact you would be looking at 0 ohms. You will have to remove lower plinth to gain access.

Un plug appliance before attempting repair :plug:

You’re right – it’s the vented one that you take the drum out of 😳 . It’s the whole front lower panel, BTW.

Thanks all, can I confirm with the front lower thermostat; can I gain access from the front or do I definately need to remove the drum?

If it is just a lower panel off, I presume that the 3 screws (from memory) at the very bottom and the hinge the whole panel out.

    Thanks again for the help.

    Hi

    gegsy, youre a star!
Exhaust thermostat located with the 2 second removal of 3 screws, tested and found to be open circuit.
I’ll get one next week and confirm with a follow up but looks like an easy fix!

    Many thanks again,

The next step after replacement is to make sure it doesn’t blow again.
Make sure appliance is allowed the 10 mins of final cool tumble, not overloaded and lint filter is cleaned religously after every dry cycle 😀
As Penguin45 stated spares available from the shop on here 😉
