    Hi Everyone,

I’m looking for some advice, our creda 37445 tumble dryer has just started to blow fuses, it runs for a while (30-40 minutes) then pop – it has done very well for a dryer thats about 18years old and I hope to keep it running for a while longer.

I suspected a short so decided to unlpug and remove the covers to take a look, after removing the back cover the first thing I noticed was black marks on the back cover by the heater TOC, and after running for a few seconds I noticed the 135 degree TOC (thermal overload cutoff) sparking like mad, I’ve sourced another TOC but before I replace this I’m wondering if anyone has come across this problem and may have any ideas/advice – is it possible that the thermostats may also have failed?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Andrew.

The plastic body of the Otter cut-out will simply have carbonised with the heat over the years. P/no should be 1740235, you can order from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk if you haven’t already placed your order.

When you come to fit it, try to avoid handling the “blade” of the cut-out. Power off, of course.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.
