I am looking for some help on a Hoover D6160 Tumbler Dryer. This is a very Old model but has been a very good machine.

The machine had been workin fine till my Mum forgot to clear the Fitter of fluff and now it has Lost heat. 😳

I have stripped the machine cleared all the fluff out it but the machine only heats some times. I have noticed when stripped the Nylon Cord in the middle of the spring has broken in a few places and the are 2 lugs broken off the 2 of the insulator elements. Would this be the cause of in not heating or is it more likely to be the thermostat?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Re: Hoover D6160 Drying Problem

There is a blade type thermostat at the top of the heater plate. Given the age of the appliance this is probably very tired by now. There is a second
thermostat on the rear cross piece, but I have never known one cause a problem.

Pattern part only now; ask spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for a TOC01.

Stay safe, power off at all times.

Disintegrate, usually 😀 . It was originally fitted to stop the spirals drooping. Chandlers stock glassfibre string if you are worried about it.
