    Hi,
I have a Zanussi DWS 949, it was working and then the house fuse blew. Since then the dishwasher doesnt work, when it is set to work there is the beginning of the regular noises and then it doesnt clean the dishes. The heating element appears to work and when you open the door you can smell the acrid smell of the elements but the dishwasher does not pump water into the dishwasher nor does it appear to empty it either.

Please can you help as to how I check if there is a problem with the fuses in the dishwasher (as I already have checked the fuse in the power plug) to see if it is a case of changing the fuse or if it is the case of changing the pump. (or maybe something else).

    Thanks

Re: Zanussi DWS 949 not working

There are no fuses in the dishwasher. It sounds like something is amiss with the circulaton motor, or possibly the motor start/run capacitor. Capacitor failure can often be identified as a faint humming noise from the pump. We cannot “walk you through” the repair, as per Forum Rules above.

If you are not sure how to proceed, please click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area. If you are going to investigate, power off at all times, please.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.
