    Hi,
The washer works OK. When the dryer is started, the drum tumbles but that is all. The timer does not count down and there is no heat produced. The two thermostats at the rear of the heating element duct show continuity(0 ohms) and the two heating elements both show continuity(with a resistance reading). On the heating duct assembly at the front of the machine, there is what I’ve seen described as a temperature probe which does not show continuity. If it is a temp. probe, I guess that’s what to expect but the drawing I saw it on describes the rubber seal as a thermostat gasket so I’m confused. If it is a thermostat then it looks faulty. When I apply a power source to the ventilator assembly/fan it works OK. When I apply a power source to the triple outlet electric valve, two of them function and allow water in but the third, connected to the steam condenser, does not. Does this mean the valve is faulty and is it enough to stop the dryer working?Sorry it’s so long winded, but any help would be appreciated.

did you not get an error code? usually, if the green valve doesnt function, then you should be getting maybe an e10 or e11 fault? yes that valve being faulty could stop the dryer from functioning, as those machines do perform a diagnostic test before working.. if a fault is detected, then the machine will not continue
it has been known for those machines not to display an error code when the valve becomes faulty, throwin you off the scent a little.

and, please, using a power cord to check if things are fuctioning is not exactly a safe way of testing, since a suitable earth bond cannot be guaranteed.. very naughty, always remember to work with the power off, and using suitable safety equipment… u usually only get one chance at making a mistake

oh, and if you do change the valve, please be prepared to wait a few minutes before the dryer kicks in.. as i said, the dryer performs a diagnostic test

    thanks

UKW will not condone, advise or assist with live testing. However, seeing that you have and lived to tell the tale, you need a cold water valve. P/no 1249472-11/7 – an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get things moving for you.

A simple resistance test would have told you what you need to know.
